The Art Directors Guild has weighed in with their nominations for the year's best production design. They have genre splits here, so they never totally match five for five with the Oscars. There are sometimes left field choices that spring up from the Academy's set designers branch (BAFTA nominees can be helpful in figuring out these techs as well, which we'll get next week). I think this is a pretty tough category this year actually- not a lot of choices with Best Picture heat (that always helps) behind them. If I had to guess right now I'd say maybe La La Land, Jackie, Fantastic Beasts, Hail Caesar and a surprise pick like The Handmaiden for the Oscar five.
