'Three Billboards' Wins Best Picture at the BAFTAS

The Brits are still in love with this movie

What is wrong with the Brits? Okay, so they LOVED Three Billboards, but so much that it has to get Best British Film AND Best Film? The last movie that did that at the BAFTAS was The King's Speech. Whatever. I'm not buying it for the Oscars. I think that movie will probably take Actress and Supporting Actor (it appears all the acting categories are inexplicably locked this year) but I'm going all in for Get Out. The preferential ballot will save the day, in my opinion. I should also mention that the BAFTAS tend to be more predictive for the tech categories rather than the top ones anyway- so it's looking good for The Shape of Water to come away with a lot of tech Oscars and probably for Blade Runner to finally get Roger Deakins that cinematography award.

  • Best Film: Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
