Okay, so these are a bit random if you ask me. Lots of movies I’ve never heard of, and Marriage Story gets in for Best Feature, but not director, lead actor or actress? Weird. This is a bit of a boost for Jennifer Lopez, who’s striving to get her first Oscar nomination for Hustlers, and it looks like these guys went for her. But overall, I don’t think these have any bearing on the Oscar race at all this year. The only movie to get both a Best Feature and Best Director nomination was Uncut Gems? That makes it seem like they didn’t particularly like much of anything, really.

Willem Dafoe was great in The Lighthouse, but I really don’t like that Robert Pattinson nomination. Gimme a break.
