This movie was highly praised on the fall festival circuit and is coming to Netflix on Dec 20th. There’s serious Oscar buzz for both these veteran actors, especially Jonathan Pryce as Pope Francis, who’s actually never been nominated. It does look like a good time just watching these two longtime pros simply talk with each other. The movie is directed by City of God’s Fernando Mereilles and written by Anthony McCarten, who wrote The Theory of Everything and Darkest Hour (and also Bohemian Rhapsody apparently, but let’s just overlook that, shall we?)
