Kenneth Branagh Returns to Personal Filmmaking With 'Belfast'

After a long stint as a paycheck director in Hollywood with movies like Thor, Cinderella and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Kenneth Branagh has finally gotten back to something that might get taken a bit more seriously this year. A black and white look back at Ireland in the late 1960’s from a child’s point of view (his own, as this is an autobiographical film). Looks lovely and we’ll be hearing how it plays when it screens at the Telluride film festival this weekend. Also, good for Outlander’s Caitriona Balfe and The Fall’s Jamie Dornan (yes I know most people know him from 50 Shades, but I don’t acknowledge those), who both look good in this.
