The reviews for Todd Field’s Tar are universally positive, with critics claiming a career best performance from Cate Blanchett, as you can almost tell from this trailer. Will she get her second lead Oscar and third overall? It’s tough to get three, only a handful have done it (Daniel Day-Lewis, Meryl Streep, Katherine Hepburn, Jack Nicholson and Ingrid Bergman to name the select few). But obviously if anyone can do it it’s her. And for Todd Field, director of In the Bedroom and Little Children, this is his comeback film after 15 years. I’m looking forward to it.
