Elvis may be a heavy Oscar contender after all
The American Film Institute’s top ten films are here. Avatar is really gonna repeat its success from the first time around, isn’t it? Elvis gets a bump from this, as well as Nope I think. The special award is for the AFI’s favorite British film, usually, so Banshees is a solid awards contender this year. Nothing else on the list surprises me much. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Oscar Best Picture lineup is extremely similar, especially since they have a full ten this year too. If there’s anything from here that gets left off, it could be She Said or maybe The Woman King? But it’d have to be replaced with something. Banshees would be one. Maybe the other could be something international, like RRR.
