Every director wants their own Roma now. It’s Steven Spielberg’s turn as he basically gives us his own origin story in this movie, which got a massive standing ovation at TIFF last night and is a huge potential Oscar frontrunner now. Michelle Williams plays his mother and according to reports, is headed for the Oscars herself. We’ll see of course. This trailer is way too schmaltzy for me, and sentimental Speilberg isn’t really my favorite.
