Sarah Polley finally gets some nice recognition for Women Talking
Top Gun won the Cinema Audio Society award tonight, making it the favorite for the sound Oscar, while Women Talking took the USC Scripter award for film adaptation, normally a good harbinger for the adapted screenplay Oscar, but fellow nominee Top Gun had withdrawn itself from consideration at that awards ceremony, due to qualifying issues. So we have to wait for WGA tomorrow to see if Sarah Polley has a shot at a writing Oscar next week.
