The Daily Show's Jon Oliver didn't last long at Comedy Central after his much praised hosting stint in Jon Stewart's place this summer. HBO has scooped him up to host his own weekly comedic talk show which satirically looks at news, politics and current events, and joins the long running Real Time with Bill Maher as the network's current talk show staple. I honestly can't wait for this, as I can't even watch The Daily Show anymore since Stewart returned. Jon Oliver was always my favorite correspondent and him hosting was such a breath of fresh air that I really didn't want him to step down. I used to be a huge Jon Stewart fan, but something's changed in him these last few years- he doesn't seem to have the fire anymore, it's like he's gotten smugger and more tired at the same time, and it's put me off him. But Oliver's sincere and fresh enthusiasm reminds me of Colbert and I can't wait to check him out on HBO. His show will premiere in 2014 and air on Sunday nights.
