The Irishman takes NBR’s Best Film prize
The critics awards are starting! Up first is the National Board of Review, which has picked The Irishman as the best film of 2019, and also laced Uncut Gems with wins in Best Actor and Original Screenplay. Renee Zellweger takes her second critics prize in Best Actress, while Richard Jewell gets some attention for Kathy Bates and Brad Pitt takes Supporting Actor. Interesting. Tomorrow the New York Film Critics will announce. I have a feeling the critics will not be unanimous this year.
