Michelle Yeoh wins the SAG award, is Oscar next?

'Everything, Everywhere' Sweeps SAG

Michelle Yeoh wins the SAG award, is Oscar next?

Well, despite the huge success for the expected frontrunner, the SAG winners here kept things interesting in several of the acting categories. Jamie Lee Curtis took Best Supporting Actress over Angela Bassett, which was an upset. Does that mean the Oscar goes to BAFTA winner Kerry Condon, or can JLC actually take this? And Michelle Yeoh won Best Actress over Cate Blanchett, and now has a real chance to make history as the first Asian actress to win the Best Actress Oscar. Is it going to happen? Cate Blanchett is still in the race, as it’s Tar’s best chance to win something, but sometimes momentum carries the day in the end when we’re dealing with history. And Brendan Fraser pulled off the SAG win over Austin Butler, leaving that likely a two man race, but I feel in those cases, the advantage goes to the man with the Best Picture candidate and that’s Elvis, not the The Whale. So we’ll see.
